Set the bar high with ENERGY STAR® and other energy-saving technology

Many of our products have earned the coveted ENERGY STAR label, which means they meet the energy efficiency requirements set by the Environmental Protection Agency. See which ones received the honor, and review stats related to energy consumption, print/copy time and more.

In addition, Ricoh Americas has been an ENERGY STAR partner for more than 20 years. In 2014, we were honored to receive an “Excellence in Energy Efficient Product Design” award from the Coalition for Federal Procurement. This award recognizes an outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by designing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency.

As part of our educational outreach, we encourage everyone in the Ricoh community to take the ENERGY STAR pledge to take energy-saving actions in your home. On the pledge page you can update your progress and monitor your personal savings, as well as total savings by others who have pledged.

Ricoh also participates in the SmartWay® program of the Environmental Protection Agency. SmartWay is focused on supply chain efficiency with the intent of reducing transportation-related emissions and environmental risk. With SmartWay’s help, we can measure, benchmark and improve the methods by which we ship products so we can route trucks in the most energy-efficient manner.

Use gold, silver and bronze ratings to recognize green products

There are three levels of EPEAT status based on number of criteria met by each product.

Gold: Meets all the “Required” and over 75% of “Optional” criteria

Silver: Meets all the “Required” and over 50% of “Optional” criteria

Bronze: Meets all the “Required” criteria (33 criteria)

Ricoh is a charter member of the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT®), a program designed to help identify green imaging equipment and electronic devices. Established in January 2013, EPEAT also includes IEEE 1680.2 International Standards for a number of important environmental attributes for imaging equipment, such as:

Energy efficiency
Packaging
Consumable take-back programs
Reduction or elimination of environmentally sensitive substances
